Panacea Medical and Wellness Centre, an award-winning multispecialty clinic with a philosophy of preventive health, celebrated their 10th Anniversary of operations today at the Meydan hotel, Dubai, UAE. The theme of the socially distanced celebrations was gratitude. Staff, patients, vendors and well-wishers were thanked for their support.
On this occasion, a new service- the “Paediatric Weight Management Program” was launched by Mr Fahed Al Maghrebi, the local sponsor of the centre. Aimed at reducing the risk of obesity related disorders in children as they grow up, this program is being spearheaded by Dr K R Menon, Specialist Paediatrician and Medical Director at the centre who has been practising in Dubai for more than two decades. When asked about this program he said “A large number of school going children are overweight in the UAE which can lead to obesity related diseases such as Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension and joint pain during adolescence and adulthood, so this program is designed to help children reach and maintain their optimal weight and reduce their risk of such diseases. Due to the pandemic, children have spent a lot of time indoors with little or no physical activity and may have put on weight – this program can also help such children to get back to their healthy weight”.
The centre started operations in Dubai, UAE on 17 March 2011 and offers services in Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Reproductive Medicine and Infertility, Dermatology, General Dentistry, Periodontics and Implantology, Orthodontics and Pathology.
