Panacea Medical and Wellness Centre launched a new initiative for their patients named “The Panacea Plate” to help them eat healthier. This initiative will create awareness about different food groups that should be included in a healthy diet every day.
“Very often we eat one type of food group more and neglect another. This will help raise awareness about essential foods that should be consumed every day for better nourishment. It will also help to ward off diseases caused by deficiencies of vitamins and minerals such as Iron deficiency anemia” said Dr Vasanthakumar, Specialist Internal Medicine.
A printed “Plate” with areas marked out for different food groups will be handed out to patients who will be encouraged to list their favorite foods in each category and meet the designated team who will do an initial assessment and measure their BMI. They will then meet one of the Panacea doctors who will advise them on the right portions of the various foods they have chosen to consume depending on their height, weight, age and activity levels.
Patrons of Panacea Medical & Wellness Centre will be encouraged to eat a balanced diet through this complimentary service that will be available every Sunday from 7 April 2019 to 8 Sep 2019 for both adults and children.
The centre hopes to raise awareness about portion control, nutrient deficiency diseases and obesity risks through this initiative.
