Children have varying healthcare needs, depending on whether they suffer from common ailments, complicated disorders, allergies or something else entirely. These ailments and disorders can have long-term ramifications if not treated correctly, as children continue to grow and their bodies mature. In order to treat all conditions effectively, our paediatrics team takes every possible precaution by employing the most advanced treatment protocols available.
Our paediatrics services are designed to help parents ensure the well-being of their children from the time they are born until they turn 16. The department delivers personalised and comprehensive healthcare to patients whilst also offering preventive services. The paediatrics department provides a wide range of services, including vaccinations, nutrition advice to help parents maintain healthy diets for their children, minor injury and burn treatment and home services (if required). We also understand how nerve-wracking it can be for young children to visit the doctor- which is why we created a play area to put them at ease before their appointment! The department also makes every effort to reduce the stress of children and their families by attending to them as quickly as possible, answering queries and providing support in every way possible.
Our paediatrics department deals with all manners of diseases and disorders in children, including the management of repeated respiratory infections, adenoid and tonsil enlargement, asthma and other allergic disorders, eczema, poor weight and height gain, feeding problems, obesity, constipation and many others.
We provide all immunisations including those under the National Immunisation Schedule of the UAE and other important vaccines. Physicians themselves administer the vaccines in our department. The clinic keeps a record of vaccinations of all children and reminds the parents about the due vaccination date.
Monitoring each child’s growth and nutrition is given the utmost importance at Panacea Medical and Wellness Centre. Growth parameters such as height and weight are regularly monitored during clinic visits and recorded. Children are checked for signs of anaemia, iron and vitamin deficiencies, and other similar conditions during each visit to the clinic, and parents are provided with the appropriate dietary advice at all times. Children are also screened routinely for developmental disorders like developmental delay, autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other learning disorders in order to facilitate early detection and mitigate symptoms.
Dr. K.R. Menon- Paediatrician in Dubai
The Paediatrics team at Panacea Medical and Wellness Centre is headed by our co-founder, Dr. K.R. Menon. Dr. Menon is considered by many to be one of the top paediatricians in Dubai, due to his extensive knowledge, personable manner and his ability to relate to children of all ages.
Dr. K. R. Menon has been practising Paediatrics in Dubai for more than two decades. He has treated children from 0 to 16 years of age for a wide range of ailments from common illnesses to complicated disorders. He has advised new parents about vaccinations, growth milestones, allergy and developmental follow up. His areas of special interest include allergic conditions of childhood and Paediatric nutrition. He has completed a post-graduate program in Paediatric Nutrition from Boston University, USA.
He has held management positions as Deputy Director in Emirates Diagnostic Clinic (now Mediclinic) and Unicare Medical Centre where he ensured quality assurance of medical and paramedical services and championed continuing medical education.
He graduated from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India and worked in the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Chandigarh, India before moving to the Middle East. Besides providing comprehensive paediatric care to his patients, he was also actively involved in school health programmes. He is associated with Safari Kids Nursery in Dubai for their child health programme.
