World Diabetes Day

On Friday, November 14 2025, we will be marking World Diabetes Day by providing FREE Random Blood Sugar testing
and handing out Diabetes awareness leaflets. The World Health
Organisation’s official theme for 2025-2026 is ‘Diabetes and
Well-being’.

Meet Dr Vasantha Kumar, Specialist Internal Medicine to answer any
questions that you may have about the prevention and management of type 2
diabetes.
 

 

Health Focus:
To reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes:

  • Perform moderate aerobic exercises for at least 30 minutes a day x 5 times a week
  • Lose 7% of your body weight if you are overweight
  • Include fibre-rich plant foods in your diet
  • Limit refined carbohydrates such as white flour and sugar
  • Choose healthy fats and lean protein
